Nutrition Services - Home Delivered Meals/Meals on Wheels
Office hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, meals available Monday - Friday.
Eligibility Requirements: 60 years or better or a spouse of someone 60 or better, Farmington Area Resident, homebound and unable to prepare meals. $2.75 donation/hot meal and $1 donation/cold meal.
Congregate On-site Meals at the Costick Center - Hot lunches are served Monday through Friday at 12:15 PM. "Lite & Healthy" alternative menu, 60 years of age or better or a spouse of someone 60 or better. Must register daily for meals in Center by 11:30 AM. $2.75 donation. Under 60, $5 fee per meal.
Liquid Nutrition Supplements - Ensure, Ensure Plus and Pulmocare. 60 years of age or better, Farmington area resident. Must have a doctor's prescription.
Focus Hope (248) 473-1826. Food for Seniors - Government Commodity Food, a monthly food box for income eligible seniors 60 or better. Available for Farmington Area residents who meet the program's income guidelines.
Senex - A social model and recreational day program dedicated to serving the frail and/or dependent elderly. Senex provides support, supervision, and activities designed to meet physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. Participants include the physically or mentally frail, the socially isolated and others with conditions such as dementia. Home Chore Program - (248) 473-1895. For resident homeowners 60 years or better.
Minor home repairs (donations requested): electrical, mechanical, plumbing, general maintenance, carpentry, etc.
Major Home Repairs: List of commercial contractors available for hire.
Other Services: Available seasonally, dependent upon special needs and availability of volunteer resources. Reservations must be made early in season - leaf raking, furnace safety check, emergency snow clearing.
Transportation
Senior Transit bus with driver helping senior woman board.Adults (55 or better) and handicapped residents. Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Curb-to-curb wheelchair accessible service, $2 suggested donation each way. Reservations taken up to 3 days in advance, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Destinations include: Medical appointments in in Farmington and Farmington Hills including Botsford Hospital and its offices and facilities, Livonia, Novi, Southfield, and West Bloomfield. Shopping trips to Busch’s, Downtown Farmington Center, Farmer Jack, Hiller’s, Kmart, Kroger, Laurel Park Place Mall, Meijer, Trader Joe’s, Twelve Oaks Mall, Uptown Farmington Center, Wal-Mart, West Oaks, and West River Center.
Senior Center Shuttle with morning and afternoon pick-ups. Other destinations include hospital and nursing home visits, banks, library, post office, beauty salons, and pharmacies, based on availability. A reduced-fare taxicab service is also available as a supplement to our program. Call for details.
