Neighborhood House

Neighborhood House

Neighborhood House is an affiliated organization with the Farmington Area Goodfellows. It was created in 1989 to help serve the community during the 11 months of the year when the Goodfellows warehouse is not open. Neighborhood House is a non-profit charity, supported totally by our local community, that provides assistance to local needy families and individuals in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Neighborhood House was started by Dick Tupper, long-time head of the Farmington Area Goodfellows and a major community leader and supporter. Over the last two years, Neighborhood House has provided financial assistance to over 500 local needy families and individuals to help them with their rent, heating bills, electric bills, and water bills. They can also provide referrals to other agencies and resources in the area that can help individuals and families in need, acting more and more as a safety net as other governmental and social resources that provide help have become less and less available.

While there are a number of worthy charities in the area and nationally, contributions to Neighborhood House are very important and beneficial because they stay here locally to help needy families right here in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Neighborhood House can help connect clients with local agencies that provide support services directly related to their needs. The Food Pantry gratefully accepts donations from the community in drop boxes just inside the front doors of both Farmington and Farmington Hills City Halls.
